Euro is starting on Wednesday. Who are the players to watch?

The Euro kicks off on Wednesday, 2 July. Reuters has compiled a list of players to watch out for:

  • Michelle Agyemang (England, Brighton - on the loan from Arsenal, 19)
    Arsenal forward scored just 41 seconds into her debut for England and could provide exciting impact off the bench for the defending champions.
  • Lia Wälti (Switzerland, Arsenal, 32)
    Veteran midfielder, the recent European champion with Arsenal and captain nicknamed “Snake Hips,” Wälti anchors both Switzerland and Arsenal’s midfield, expected to lead hosts to a strong tournament finish.
  • Ellen Wangerheim (Sweden, Hammarby,  20)
    Strong attacking talent from Hammarby with standout Champions League form, offering Sweden balance and goal threat if needed.
  • Ewa Pajor (Poland, Barcelona, 28)
    Prolific scorer, Poland's caplain, with 47 goals in 46 games for Barcelona, Pajor’s speed and strength are crucial for Poland’s hopes in a tough Group C.

French league's best goalkeeper is heading to Brighton

  • Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women's Super League on a free transfer from Paris FC, with the move becoming effective July 1.
  • During four seasons at Paris FC (2020–2025), Nnadozie featured in 16 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches and played a key role in their 2024/25 Coupe de France FĂ©minine victory, saving two penalties in the final.
