Another honour for the Lionesses. Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton are expected to receive MBE
After having been overlooked in 2022 despite scoring the Euro-winning goal, Kelly is now expected to be awarded an MBE in the 2025 New Year Honours list for her invaluable contributions to the Lionesses’ success.
- Following England’s Euro 2025 final win over Spain via penalties in Basel, Chloe Kelly and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton are expected to be named MBEs in the upcoming New Year Honours for their instrumental performances during the tournament.
- Earlier in 2025, Kelly experienced a challenging period—being sidelined by Manchester City and contemplating a break from football. Her decision to move permanently to Arsenal proved pivotal, revitalising her career and paving the way for her international triumph.
- The Lionesses received a formal reception at 10 Downing Street, hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Sports Minister Stephanie Peacock. Multiple players—including Kelly and Hampton—received praise from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and the squad enjoyed a victory bus parade through London.
