Champions League is here!
The new UEFA Women’s Champions League season kicks off on October 7. This year brings plenty of changes — including a brand-new format. Fans will be able to watch all the action on Disney+.
- The tournament format has been overhauled: the old 16-team group stage is replaced by an 18-team league phase.
- In this league phase, each club plays six matches against six different opponents (three home, three away), rather than playing each group opponent twice.
- At the end of the league phase: The top four teams qualify directly for the quarter-finals. Teams placed 5th to 12th enter two-legged play-offs to fight for the remaining four quarter-final spots. Teams finishing 13th to 18th are eliminated.
- The league phase runs from October through December; the final of the Champions League will be held at Ullevaal Stadion, Oslo in May 2026.
