Dream debut. Ornella Vignola scored hattrick in Merseyside derby
This couldn't be better. Everton launched the new season with Merseyside derby against Liverpool. They won 4:1 thanks to their new signing Ornella Vinola and her hattrick. That marks the first Evertonian since the legendary Dixie Dean in September 1931 to net a treble in this famous fixture.
- The forward joined Everton from Granada in the summer of 2025, part of nine new arrivals following a heavy-spending transfer window.
- Everton, now under the control of The Friedkin Group, invested significantly in their squad after years of financial limitations, aiming to break into the WSL’s top tier.
- Born in Uruguay but a former Spain youth international, Vignola has been highlighted as one of the standout signings capable of leading Everton’s resurgence.
