NY Gotham celebrates its second title in three seasons, despite entering the playoffs in eighth place.
- Gotham FC defeated Washington Spirit 1-0 at PayPal Park in San Jose to claim the 2025 NWSL Championship—marking their second title in three seasons.
- Entering the postseason as the #8 seed, Gotham became the lowest-seeded team in NWSL history to win the championship.
- The winning goal came in the 80th minute, when Rose Lavelle converted a low cross from Brazilian teammate Bruninha.
- This triumph capped off what the club described as its most accomplished campaign ever, which also included winning the inaugural CONCACAF W Champions Cup earlier in the year.
- Despite a challenging regular season, Gotham’s playoffs were defined by resilience, tactical discipline and timely moments of brilliance—underscoreing their playoff-knock-out football identity.
