January restart? West Ham close to sign new coach
West Ham United Women are closing in on appointing Rita Guarino, former Juventus head coach, as their new manager ahead of the January restart.
- Guarino, a former Italy international and four-time Serie A winner with Juventus, is expected to sign a contract through 2027 and take charge after Christmas.
- West Ham recently sacked Rehanne Skinner after a poor run of results; interim boss Steve Kirby oversaw a heavy League Cup defeat to Manchester City.
- Guarino’s first match in charge is likely to be against Chelsea on 11 January 2026, with West Ham positioned just above the WSL relegation zone.
