Preview: Will Tottenham and Leicester play their new signings?
Tottenham is the big surprise of this season. The team, which finished just behind relegated Crystal Palace last season, has undergone fundamental changes. The replacement of the coach and the arrival of striker Cathinka Tandberg have helped the club significantly—it is now in fifth place.
And the club didn't stop there. Spurs were very active during the winter transfer window, bringing in five players, including Maika Hamano, who is on loan from Chelsea. Matilda Nildén, Signe Gaupset, Hana Wijk, and Julie Blakstad could also make their debuts on Sunday. However, the club also experienced a major departure in the winter when Ash Neville, their longest-serving player, left after almost ten years.
By coincidence, Neville's steps led her to Leicester, which Tottenham will host after the winter break. The Foxes were also quite successful in the winter transfer window. In addition to the aforementioned Neville, the club was strengthened by Sarah Mayling, who came from Aston Villa, and Emma Jansson, who came from FC Rosengård.
Previous matches between these two teams have always been very close, but Tottenham has the upper hand in their head-to-head record. We recommend keeping an eye on Cathinka Tandberg, who last opened the scoring and contributed to a 2-1 win.
