Sam Kerr is back in Matildas squad
It took two years, but Sam Kerr is back on the national team after a long injury.
- Sam Kerr returns to Matildas squad for the first time since late 2023, selected ahead of friendlies against Wales (Oct 25 in Cardiff) and England (Oct 29 in Derby).
- Her recall follows a long recovery from an ACL injury sustained in January 2024, with Kerr having gradually returned to club action at Chelsea.
- Other inclusions in the 24-player squad: Cortnee Vine and Katrina Gorry, while Mary Fowler (ACL) and Tameka Yallop (hamstring) remain unavailable.
- In her recent club return, Kerr made limited appearances for Chelsea, including a 23-minute substitute cameo in a 1–1 Women’s Champions League draw with Twente.
