Selina Cerci's Remarkable Comeback with a hattrick
Selina Cerci, a 24-year-old footballer from Kiel, made a remarkable comeback by scoring a hat-trick in Germany's 6-1 victory over Scotland. After two serious knee injuries in 2022 and 2023, she was unable to play for nearly two years. During her recovery, Cerci took on the role of team manager for the "Las Ligas Ladies," a small-field team. In the summer of 2024, she signed with TSG Hoffenheim, where she has scored 11 goals in 16 matches this season.
Cerci views her recent hat-trick as motivation to secure a spot in the upcoming European Championship. National coach Christian Wück praised her exceptional skills, including speed, heading ability, and finishing quality. Despite her strong performance, Cerci remains focused on continuing to prove herself both at her club and in national team appearances to achieve her dream of participating in the European Championship.
