Swedish expansion into the WSL continues. Wangerheim heads to Manchester United
The young striker from Hammarby will join a large group of players from northern Europe. She will meet Fridolina Rolfö and Hanna Lundkvist, among others.
- Wangerheim signed a three-year contract keeping her at United atleast until June 2029.
- She joined United from Hammarby IF, where she made over 100 appearances and won the OBOS Damallsvenskan title and Swedish Cup in 2023. She also took part with them in Champions League last season.
- There had already been speculation that the young Swedish international could attract interest from Chelsea, Manchester City or Wolfsburg. In the end, however, she will pull on the Red Devils’ jersey.
- From Hammarby to the top tiers of the WSL have gone, for example, Smilla Holmberg (Arsenal) and Julie Blakstad (Tottenham).
