The first semifinal is here! Who will make it to the final?
The first semifinal will feature England, who advanced after a tense penalty shootout with Sweden. It is still unclear whether captain Leah Williamson, who injured her ankle in the last game, will be able to play. England will face Italy. Although Norway was favored in the quarterfinal match, Italy managed to avoid extra time with a last-minute goal and sent the previously dominant Norway home. When and where is it played? The heroine not only of the 2022 final, but also of the match against Sweden. She only entered the game in the 79th minute, but her impact on the game was immediately apparent. With two assists, she secured England's equalizer and then confidently converted a penalty. It is undoubtedly thanks to her that England is playing in the semifinals today. The question remains whether she will enter the match as a substitute again or whether Sarina Wiegman will put her in the starting lineup.
Chloe Kelly is also worth watching in the Women's Super League. Just before Euro 2022, she officially became an Arsenal player, where she had been on loan since winter. According to her, she wanted to quit football during her time at Manchester City because she was unhappy. Italy - Cristiana Girelli
The choice for Italy could be none other than captain Cristiana Girelli herself. The Juventus star, who has scored 101 goals for her club and, more importantly, for the national team. Italy defeated Norway 2-1 in the quarterfinals, with both goals coming from her. She also scored against Portugal, making her the top scorer for the Italian team in the tournament. During her active career, she was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame and in 2022 she was also named Italian Footballer of the Year.
