QB ORIGINALS | LISAN ALKEMADE: PSV Eindhoven Goalkeeper on How Mainstream Media Treat Women's Football Goalkeepers

QB Originals Lisan Alkemade PSV Eindhoven

Are goalkeepers judged more harshly in women's football? Do mainstream media focus only on their worst mistakes? And how has the success of UEFA Women's EURO 2017 influenced the growth of women's football in the Netherlands? We discussed all of this in the latest episode of QB Originals with PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Lisan Alkemade.

Lisan spent the second half of the season on loan at Sparta Prague, helping the club secure a domestic double and reach the UEFA Women's Europa Cup semi-finals. She played a crucial role in Sparta's cup triumph, producing a match-winning performance in the penalty shootout.

She actually celebrated two league titles during the 2025/26 season, as her parent club PSV Eindhoven won the Eredivisie Vrouwen for the first time in the club's history. Following her return, Alkemade signed a new contract that will keep her at PSV until 2029.

In her interview with QueenBallers, Alkemade reflects on her begginings, the Dutch mentality and country's relationship with women's football.
