A spirited attempt by England women's national football team to bounce back from their Euro 2025 triumph fell short as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Brazil women's national football team. Brazil struck early through Bia Zaneratto and Dudinha before a red-card reduced them to ten, yet England couldn’t overturn the deficit despite a penalty from Georgia Stanway in the second half.
