Spurs hit seven in dominant win
Tottenham dismantled Aston Villa 7:3 on Sunday, 15 February. The scoring in the seven-goal thriller was opened by young Norwegian star Signe Gaupset, who netted her first goal in the WSL. She was not the only Norwegian to impress on the day.
- Tottenham defeated Aston Villa 7:3 in a 10-goal Women’s Super League thriller, keeping their Women’s Champions League qualification hopes alive and moving level on points with Arsenal (who have two games in hand), while Villa dropped to ninth place in the table.
- Signe Gaupset opened the scoring after 10 minutes, drilling past Villa goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck at her near post for her first goal since joining Tottenham from Norwegian side SK Brann last month. Her fellow Norwergian Cathinka Tandberg also enjoyed a standout performance, finding the net twice. A third Norwegian, Julie Blakstad, added her first goal in a Spurs shirt in the 85th minute.
