OL Lyoness and London City Lionesses, two clubs owned by Michelle Kang, faced each other in a preseason friendly match. The WSL newcomer challenged the French giant, with OL Lyoness coming out on top with a score of 3:1. However, young English talent and Arsenal academy graduate Freya Godfrey scored for LCL, having moved permanently to London City Lionesses after a loan spell. For Danielle van de Donk, it was a reunion with her former club.
