She earned a Master's degree in Psychology (cand.psych.) from Aarhus University while continuing her professional football career.

She writes a regular column called "Kruses Corner" for the Danish women's football organization Kvinder i Fodbold, focusing on mental health and life as a professional footballer.

At the age of 16, she stepped away from Denmark youth national-team football because of the mental pressure, an experience that later inspired her advocacy for player wellbeing.

When joining Como, she said the club's ambition and identity as an independent women's football club were among the biggest reasons she chose the move.
