Manchester United made history
Although Arsenal started the League Cup semi-final better and created more chances, they failed to finish. United capitalized on a mistake by Anneke Borbe at the end of the first half, sending them to the League Cup final for the first time in history. They will face reigning champions Chelsea, who were sent to the final by a single goal from Wieke Kaptein.
Barcelona won Supercopa
20:1. That's the head-to-head record between eternal Spanish rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid. On Saturday, Barcelona added another victory against the White Ballet, winning 2-0 in the cup final thanks to goals from Esmee Brugts and Alexia Putellas.
Two quick goals saved Liverpool
Liverpool, currently bottom of the table, really surprised Tottenham. Although Spurs are in relatively good form, thanks in part to their winter signings, and are fighting for third place, they couldn't score a single goal against Liverpool throughout the entire match. Just when it looked like the match would end in a goalless draw, Mia Enderby scored two quick goals in stoppage time, earning the Reds three points and giving Spurs a real shock. For Jennifer Falk, it was her second clean sheet in the WSL.
London is red
Beth Mead and Mariona Caldentey silenced Stamford Bridge when their goals helped Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-0 in the derby. This was despite missing key players such as the injured Chloe Kelly and Leah Williamson and the suspended Olivia Smith. Thanks in part to Manchester City's win on Sunday, Chelsea's chances of defending their domestic title are looking slim, as coach Sonia Bompastor herself pointed out.
Lehmann is back in WSL
Although Alisha Lehmann had only been in Como since the start of the 2025/26 season, playing just six games without scoring or assisting, Leicester decided to take the perhaps surprising step of bringing her back to England. The 27-year-old Swiss player, who is one of the most popular female footballers today with almost 16 million followers on Instagram, returned to the WSL after a season at Juventus and Como. She had previously played for West Ham, Aston Villa, and Everton.
