Football wasn't her only childhood passion—she also practiced classical ballet, horseback riding, roller skating, tennis and swimming while growing up.

Horseback riding became a special passion because it helped strengthen the bond with her father.

She originally played as a striker with the boys, then as a midfielder, before eventually discovering her best position as a full-back almost by chance during an Italy youth match.
