Carla Tays comes from a family of five siblings and she started playing football while still in elementary school, long before reaching Brazil's youth national teams.

Carla described signing for Palmeiras as the realization of a dream after her years at Internacional and with Brazil's youth national teams.

Carla credits her family as one of the main reasons she continued pursuing football during difficult periods of her development.

Carla Tays has said that leaving Bahia to pursue football professionally was one of the biggest sacrifices of her career because it meant living far away from her family at a young age.
