Rafa Martins was born in Santa Luzia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and began her football journey with São José, where she played from 2015 through 2019.

Rafa Martins had her first international club experience with ŽFK Ljuboten of North Macedonia during the 2023–24 season.

Rafa Martins can play both as a central defender and as a left-back, giving her teams flexibility across the defensive line.

She arrived at Santos during the 2024 season and helped the club win the Copa Paulista, scoring in her early appearances for the Sereias da Vila.
