Veronica Benedetti started playing football at the age of eight after wanting to join her classmates who played together on Saturdays.

Before focusing on football, Benedetti practiced swimming as a child.

One of her most memorable youth moments was scoring against the United States with Italy U16 in the Tournament of Nations, in a match Italy won 1–0.

Injuries interrupted an important stage of her development, including a long period away from football before she returned with Tavagnacco and later Ravenna.
