All eyes on Trinity Rodman's return
She’s one of the biggest stars in American soccer, but her current season—amid rumors of a potential transffer to Chelsea—was disrupted by injury. Now, the young U.S. talent is slowly returning to training, and it won’t be long before we see her back on the pitch.
- U.S. international Trinity Rodman has resumed training with the Washington Spirit after a roughly three-month absence due to a persistent back injury.
- Rodman described experiencing constant pain, saying the injury left her “in pain all the time,” and while she is back on the field, her training load remains carefully managed by club staff.
- She hasn’t played competitively since mid-April and has made only one appearance for the USWNT in the past 11 months due to her injury struggles.
- Both the Spirit and U.S. national team staff have coordinated closely on her recovery, with U.S. coach Emma Hayes confirming in June that Rodman’s return to training with the Spirit was anticipated for July.
- Rodman, now 23, becomes eligible to negotiate with other clubs as a free agent starting 1 July 2025, amid reported interest from top European teams, icluding treble holding Chelsea.
