Although several clubs from her hometown of Stockholm were keen to secure her signature, 20-year-old Tuva Ölvestad chose the reigning Swedish champions instead, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract in Göteborg.

  • Ölvestad, who plays as forward, joins from IF Brommapojkarna, making the move from east to west Sweden as the next step in her career development.
  • Häcken's new signing is currently recovering from a serious ACL injury sustained in June last year, meaning she is not yet match-ready as she continues rehabilitation.
  • Ölvestad described the injury period as mentally and physically challenging, but said she has received strong support and worked to turn the setback into something positive.
  • Before her injury, Ölvestad recorded four goals in eight Damallsvenskan matches last season, following a previous campaign in which she scored two goals in 22 appearances. She is also part of Sweden U23 squad.
  • Häcken has recently transferred several players abroad, including Hannah Wijk and Matilda Nildén, who both moved to Tottenham Hotspur. Goalkeeper Jennifer Falk is on the loan in Liverpool.
