Gareth Taylor becomes Liverpool's head coach
During this season, he left Manchester City after facing a wave of criticism, including from players. For example, Chloe Kelly indirectly mentioned that she was unhappy at Manchester City, partly because of the head coach, when she left for Arsenal. Gareth Taylor will now coach Liverpool.
- Liverpool Women have appointed Gareth Taylor—former Manchester City Women boss—as their new head coach, following Amber Whiteley’s interim role after Matt Beard’s February departure. Taylor led Manchester City Women from 2020 until March this year.
- “I am delighted to have been appointed as Liverpool’s new head coach… Everyone in football knows about the history, size and potential of this club… Our aim is to create a team that supporters can be proud of, which plays good football and which will hopefully bring success along the way," said Taylor.
- Taylor’s former assistant, Chad Gribble, joins immediately to strengthen the coaching staff.
- Amber Whiteley, who served as interim head coach earlier this year, will remain as an assistant coach, continuing her developmental pathway with the club.
