Laura Wienroither makes pernament move to Manchester City from Arsenal
The young Austrian defender is staying at Manchester City, where she spent last season on loan. In her own words, she has always had a soft spot for the club. At Arsenal, the right-back position is currently held by Katie McCabe and new signing Taylor Hinds.
- Austrian defender Laura Wienroither has joined Manchester City on loan from Arsenal for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, following the January 30, 2025 transfer deadline.
- She moved to Arsenal from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in January 2022, debuting against Manchester United, has made a total of 51 appearances and scored once for the Gunners.
- Sidelined by an ACL injury during the 2023 Champions League semi-final, she returned to action in April 2024 in a 5–0 win over Bristol City after an 11-month rehab.
- Wearing squad number 13, she becomes Manchester City’s first Austrian player in the professional era, and is eligible for Champions League selection despite having already played in the competition for Arsenal this season.
