London City Lionesses are planning world class training campus
Tonbridge & Malling Council has unanimously approved the London City Lionesses’ new performance campus at Cobdown Park — a state-of-the-art facility designed exclusively for women’s football.
- Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council’s Area 3 Planning Committee unanimously approved plans for a new Performance Campus at Cobdown Park in Ditton, Kent.
- The facility will be tailored to women’s needs — first team and academy performance, recovery, and wellbeing — and intends to rival training centres of men’s Premier League clubs.
- Upgrades include an improved Academy building, a new high-quality 3G pitch available to the community (including Kent FA programmes, local girls & ladies leagues, SEND schools, and mixed disability leagues), and a refurbished pavilion with modern changing, kitchen, and meeting rooms.
- The project is led by owner/chair Michele Kang, and is seen as a major investment in women’s football, particularly for Kent.
- The new campus is expected to generate around £1 million annually for the local economy and create over 50 permanent jobs in club operations.
- Construction is planned to begin in 2026, with an ambition to complete the facility in 2027.
