One bid, all together, The UK's submitted for 2035 World Cup
The football associations of The FA (England), Irish FA, Scottish FA and FA of Wales have formally submitted a joint bid to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
- If successful, the 2035 tournament would become the largest single-sport event ever staged in the UK — and the first FIFA World Cup of any kind held in the UK since 1966.
- The bid proposes 22 stadiums across 16 host cities: 16 stadiums in England, 3 in Wales, 2 in Scotland, and 1 in Northern Ireland.
- The organizers estimate that 63 million people will live within two hours of a venue — making it potentially the most accessible Women’s World Cup ever.
- The proposed tournament format includes 48 national teams, 104 matches, 48 team-base training sites, and 32 fan-festival sites. Organizers project around 4.5 million tickets sold and a global TV audience up to 3.5 billion.
- The bid rests on a mission statement called ‘All Together’, aiming to use the event to boost participation, leadership, and commercial growth in women’s and girls’ football — with a commitment to grassroots investment, increasing female officials, and leaving a lasting legacy across the UK.
