Adriana grew up playing football in the streets of Lustosa before beginning organised school football at the age of eight.

Her football journey began through school sport in Freamunde when she was eight, but she did not join her first fully female team until moving to Boavista at around 15.

Adriana once described football as “her praia” — a Portuguese expression suggesting that football is completely her world and where she feels most at home.

Making her mother proud has always been one of the strongest motivations behind Adriana’s football journey.

While playing for Napoli, Adriana took part in an event connected with the book Un calcio ai pregiudizi — “A Kick Against Prejudice” — which focused on challenging prejudice through football.
